Development Standards

The purpose of the City of Ferndale Development Standards is to provide minimum guidelines to safeguard the public by regulating and controlling roadway, domestic water, sanitary sewer and storm drainage design, construction and related land alteration.

 

Sewer Comprehensive Plan

The City of Ferndale Comprehensive Wastewater Facilities Plan (February 1996) provides evaluation on the City's needs based on projected residential population growth and commercial and industrial demands on the treatment system through 2015. It was developed in accordance with requirements outlined within the Growth Management Act, by the Washington State Department of Ecology and Washington Administrative Code.

 

Stormwater Comprehensive Plan

The Comprehensive Stormwater Management Plan (October 2005) was developed through a grant obtained from the Washington State Department of Ecology and addresses stormwater management within the corporate limits of Ferndale, as well as Ferndale's Urban Growth Boundary, where applicable, to ensure compliance with Federal and State guidelines, permits and regulations.

 

Water Comprehensive Plan

The City of Ferndale 2006 Water System Plan projects water system demands based upon growth projections, adopted Urban Growth Areas and conservation policies. It presents an evaluation of the existing system and recommended improvements needed to provide service through the year 2026.
